William Russell

Bill Russell, MD was Chief Medical Information Officer for ChenMed and led the development of a clinical notes solution for Value-Based Care. He also served as their Medical Director for the Virginia market. Dr. Russell had served as the clinical liaison from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT to the four states building health information exchange solutions to improve Transitions of Care in the Long Term/Post-Acute Care space. He served as co-lead for the Longitudinal Coordination of Care workgroup at S and I Framework. As a consultant to a national hospice, he developed a Hospice clinical content solution on a meaningful use certified EMR platform. He also served as VP, Clinical Informatics at Erickson Communities and built their clinical content for long term care, assisted living and ambulatory care including HEDIS reporting at the point of care on a certified platform.
Dr. Russell is a 1982 graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed Internal Medicine and Geriatrics training at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.
