Nicholas J. Kuhn is the President & CEO; and a Director of Curavi Health, Inc; a company focused on delivering innovative solutions to enhance the quality of care for residents in skilled nursing facilities and in the broader post-acute care environment. Curavi Health is a spin out of UPMC Enterprises, and is being built on the latest in interdisciplinary clinical research in the field of telemedicine and clinical decision support.
Prior to Curavi, Mr. Kuhn served as CEO, President and Chief Business Officer of ALung Technologies, as well as a Director of the Company. Mr. Kuhn was a founder of the company, led the company though technology development, clinical trials, CE approval, and commercialization in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He raised $21 million in angel, venture and grant financing and generated $2 million in revenue in ALung’s first full year of operation. ALung Technologies commercialized a novel, extracorporeal CO2 removal device that replaces the need for mechanical ventilation in the treatment of acute respiratory failure.
Prior to ALung, Mr. Kuhn was a founder of two medical device companies and has held senior sales & marketing positions at several large medical device corporations. Mr. Kuhn holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Notre Dame, and a M.B.A. from Kellogg. Mr. Kuhn is the winner of the Pittsburgh Technology Council Enterprise Business plan competition; as well as Carnegie Science Start-Up Entrepreneur of the Year.
